UFC 218: Holloway vs. Aldo 2 will see the UFC Featherweight Championship contested in its main event, as Max Holloway tries to make it two straight against former champion José Aldo. Pettis has assembled a winning streak that is decent, besting the likes of John Moraga, Chris Kelades, Chris Cariaso and Brandon Moreno .
From the co-feature, heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Francis Ngannou will face each other. Overeem is coming off two wins, the a decision win over Fabricio Werdum. Ngannou is inexperienced, but has beaten on both Andrei Arlovski and Anthony Hamilton in the UFC, the latter through knockout his last time out. Holloway is 18-3 as a professional and has not tasted defeat since August 2013 when he dropped to Conor McGregor. He is still trying to get past the shadow of McGregor, which still looms over the featherweight division. While Aldo was coming off a win over Frankie Edgar at the moment Holloway won the first battle in the third round. Holloway and Edgar were assumed to fight, but Aldo needed to replace the latter due to injury. Henry Cejudo, fresh off a knockout win over Wilson Reis in UFC 215, will take in his next outing on fellow flyweight Sergio Pettis.
Prior to his triumph over Reis, Cejudo dropped a split decision to Joseph Benavidez afterwards he had a point taken away from the first round as a result of low blows. And before that, Cejudo was hard Demetrious Johnson for the UFC Flyweight Championship, a bout that led to his first career loss. Aldo was pumped out two in three conflicts, together with the conclusion finished Edgar between them. Prior to those two losses, he had not lost since November 2005.
