ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe won’t be releasing in Canada despite previous announcements regarding the launch of the smartphone in the country, representatives from the Taiwanese OEM have confirmed.
The cancellation of the launch of Zenfone 3 Deluxe comes as a surprise considering that ASUS put in some serious efforts to market the smartphone before its launch in the country – so much so that it even tied up with quite a few retailers in the country including Best Buy, Canada Computers, Memory Express, Newegg.ca, and Staples for the smartphone’s launch. It turns out that the smartphone won’t be launching in the country at least and reasons are still unknown.
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe carried a SRP of $669 CAD and for that amount you would have gotten a smartphone with a 5.7-inch display powered by 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 653MHz Adreno 530 GPU, and 64GB of internal storage. Its rear camera is Sony’s 23-megapixel IMX318 shooter with a f/2.0 lens. The specifications of the smartphone are quite impressive considering the price it carries and if it would have made it on the shelves, the holiday season would have forced retailers to knock off up to a couple of hundred dollars making it a very tempting smartphone.
While Canadian’s won’t be getting the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Americans are going to miss out on the Zenfone 3 and instead they will only be able to purchase the Deluxe variant. This means that if you are in Canada and still want to get your hands on a Zenfone 3 Deluxe, all you have to do is cross over the border, buy one and return.
