Microsoft has revealed two new Xbox controllers that will pair with any Xbox One variant available in the market including the latest Xbox One S.
The two new controllers are Ocean Shadow Special Edition and Winter Forces Special Edition and will be released starting February 7 depending on the retailer you opt for. The controllers are available for pre-order through Amazon.com, Xbox.com, Microsoftstore.com and other participating retailers.
As described by Microsoft, the Ocean Shadow Special Edition Xbox One controller is the next evolution of the Shadow controller series that the company released in 2016. The controller is sleek and comes with a matte black top case and sides that fade to a light blue metallic finish. The buttons, triggers and D-pad have a glossy black finish with light blue highlights on the ABXY and menu buttons.
The Winter Forces Special Edition controller on the other hand is the latest member of the Forces series controllers inspired by the popularity of our previous Armed Forces, Covert Forces, and Midnight Forces controllers. The latest controller features a modern, arctic camo pattern with light and dark grey accents, giving it a striking look alongside your Xbox One S console.
The two new controllers have textured grip, improved wireless range and Bluetooth technology for gaming on Windows 10 devices or Samsung Gear VR. You can also take advantage of the custom button-mapping feature through the Xbox Accessories App, available for download from the Xbox Store or Windows Store.
Microsoft also announced that starting this March, they will be enabling the input from two Xbox controllers to be combined by the console for a unified controller experience under one player’s profile in a feature called Co-pilot.
